Verlena “Ms Vee” Lawrence, a beloved native of Reserve “Cornland,” LA entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at her residence, LaPlace, LA. She was born September 21, 1942, in Reserve, LA to the late Ethel Mae Miles and Oscar Lawrence, Sr.  She was a devoted mother to Kerry Jackson and Charmaine White. She was well known in the community as Ms. Vee. 


She received her education from St John the Baptist Parish Public School Educational System. She graduated from Fifth Ward High School, class of 1962. 
From a young girl, she professed her faith and was baptized by the late Rev. George Washington on July 4, 1959 at the Greater New Plymouth Rock B.C. She served under the leadership of Pastor George Wasgington, Pastor Ernest Taylor, Sr., Pastor David B. Carter, and Pastor Elmo Perrilloux. She sang in the senior choir for many years. She attended Bible class and Sunday School. She served as a deaconess and on the program committee. She was a true disciple of this church. 


A committed grandmother to her grandkids Charm Zeno, Nathalie Zeno, Brittany White and Keriyawno Jackson, and a beloved great grandmother to Roland Morgan, Jr., Jermani Hayes, Bria, Brynlee, and Byce Gray, Esaias Armstrong, Liam Armstrong, Summer Jackson, Ariyah Jackson, and Zakyeious Jackson. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She was known for her selfless acts, unconditional love, and many life lessons. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with her family and friends, traveling (taking trips), and attending church and church functions. 
She will be missed by all who knew her.  


She leaves to cherish her precious memories children; Charmaine (Robert) White and Kerry (LaTisha) Jackson; siblings; Kennth Landix, Leo Carriere, Ezekiel Landix, and Oscar Lawrence, Jr., grandchildren, great grandchildren, devoted niece, Evelyn Brown, devoted cousin Joe Ann Mason, a bonus daughter, Doretha Joseph (Gary), a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.


She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Mae Miles and her father, Oscar Lawrence, Sr.; sisters, Erna Mae Lawrence and Marylin Berzat; nephews, Kevin Williams and Terrell Berzat. 


 Job 1:21b  the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. 


Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Greater New Plymouth Rock Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00am on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Greater New Plymouth Rock Baptist Church, 110 NW 13th Street, Reserve, LA 70084.  Rev. Elmo Perrilloux-Pastor.  Visitation 9:00am until time of service at the above-named Church.  Interment St. John Memorial Gardens, 2205 W. Airline Hwy, Laplace, LA 70068.  Final Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H. Sanders Funeral Home & Funeral Directors, LLC. 605 Main Street, Laplace, LA 70068. 985-359-1919.  "Providing Care & Comfort is Our Highest Mission'.
