Timothy “Squirrel” Phipps, Jr.

Timothy Phipps, Jr. entered eternal rest at his residence on Friday, July 7, 2023 at the age of 47. He was born on March 23, 1977 to Mary Hymes and the late Timothy Phipps, Sr. He was a native of Metairie, LA. Timothy was a graduate of East Jefferson High School Class of 1995 where he was an aspiring football athlete.
“Squirrel as he was known by family and friends was survived by his loving mother; Mary Louise Hymes (Carl Banks), his beautiful daughters; Areion, Anija, Taje’ and Layla Phipps, his loving brothers Terell (Tonya)Phipps, Anthony, and Antoino Irvin. Maternal Grandfather; Alexander Hymes, Sr., Uncle Alexander Hymes, Jr., aunts; Brenda Scott Ivory Smith, Gwendolyn Tally, Claudette Hymes and Charlonda Hymes. Paternal aunts; Ella S. Webber and Catherine P. Gordon, uncles Lloyd Phipps and Kevin Gordon. He is also survived by his great aunts Katherine Garrison, Ella Harris, and Queen Ester Burns. Great uncles; James and Melvin Jones.
He was preceded in death by his father Timothy Phipps, Sr., his maternal grandmother Odessa Hymes, Paternal grandparents; Lois (Lloyd) T. and Gladys Phipps, uncles; Lonnie D. Hymes and Fred C. Scott, and Charles. Aunts; Mary (Bunny) S. Webber and Audrey Young. Cousins; Jerry and Dewayne Scott, Issac (Tuffy)Tally and Frank (Button) Scott, III. Also survived by a host of cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers and Members of Second New Guide Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 15, 2023, 10:00am at Second New Guide Missionary Baptist Church, 1424 S. Dilton Street, Metairie, LA 70003. Visitation 9:00am until time of service. There will be a private burial. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
