Theola Thomas Gullage

1946 - 2024

Early Sunday Morning on October 27, 2024, Theola Thomas Gullage passed away peacefully at Ochsner Medical Center-Kenner, LA. Theola was born on August 6, 1946, to the late William and Lillian Thomas.

Theola was the wife of the late Curtis Gullage. She was the Loving Mother of 5 children Eric Thomas (Wanda), Larry Thomas (Lisa), Terri Flowers (Robert), Cedric Thomas (Trina) and David Thomas (Nancy).  Theola also loved her stepdaughters, Roslind Joseph (Rodney), the late Carolyn Gullage, Joyce Gullage, Cynthia Washington, Roxanne Wilson (Greg) and Hope Gullage. She is survived by 1 sister; Rose Mary Isaac and she was preceded in death by her 2 sisters Diane Barconey and Mona Honor.   Theola is survived by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Theola retired from the St. Charles Parish School Board after serving more than 2 decades the school system. During that time, she developed many long-standing friendships across all racial lines. As we all know, she never met a stranger. She was quick to lend a hand or an uplifting word to anyone in need. Theola was one who would let you know what was on her mind, whether you agreed with it or not. Sister Gullage served faithfully at Mt. Airy Baptist Church until she fell sick. She served as the president of the senior choir. She will surely be missing.

Airy Baptist Church and all neighboring and employees of St. Charles Parish School Board are invited to attend the funeral services at 11:00am on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 13635Old Spanish Trail, Boutte, LA, 70039. Clyde Staes, Pastor-Officiating. Visitation 9:00am until time of service at the above-named church. Interment Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
