Thelma Jupiter Joseph

1933 – 2026

Thelma Jupiter Joseph Joseph transitioned from her earthly life on February 4, 2026, at her home in Hahnville, LA.  She was born in Taft, LA on March 2, 1933, to the late Olevia Richner Wilson Jupiter and Freddie Jupiter, Sr.  She was a lifelong resident of St. Charles Parish, LA., a native of Taft, LA and resident of Hahnville, LA.

Thelma was first married to the late Albert Earl Joseph, Jr. and to this union seven children were born: Alethea Christine (Dennis) Bornes, Winston (Rita) Joseph, Albert Vincent Joseph, Dionne (Michael) Cannon, Rodney (Rosalind) Joseph, Byron Joseph and Courtney Joseph.  Her second marriage to Romalis Joseph, Sr. added 4 bonus sons, Romalis Joseph, Jr., Christopher and Gary Joseph and the late Melvin Joseph.  Thelma was the sister/aunt  of  Percy A. (Barbara) Wilson.

Thelma was preceded in death by her loving parents Olivia Richner Wilson Jupiter and Freddie Jupiter, Sr., husband Romalis Joseph, Sr. and former husband Albert Joseph, Jr., her brothers; Raymond, Jr.,  Thomas, Lawrence, Isadore and John Wilson, and Kirby, Eddie and Freddie, Jr. Jupiter; sisters Ophelia J. McCarvey, Edna J. Augustine, Ernestine J. Lawrence, Alma J. Pierre and Lucille J. Clark; grandsons, Michael Joseph Cannon and Byron Luke Joseph, Jr.

Relatives and friends of the family, Priest and parishioners of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Joseph the Work Catholic Church, True Vine Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 11:00am on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1 Rectory Lane, Hahnville, LA  70057.  Visitation will begin at 9:00am until 10:45am at the above-named Church.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:00am.  Interment Holy Rosary Cemetery, River Rd, Taft, LA.  Final Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H.
