Sherlyn Marie Lee was born May 20,1957 in New Orleans, La to the late Isaac Lee and Mary Ann P. Smith (stepfather of Johnny Smith). She was affectionately known as “Sherra”, “Buck”, “Buckey” and more to others.
Sherlyn was a native of Norco, La and resident of Reserve, La. She attended Mary McLeod Bethune School in Norco, La. Sherlyn was a hard worker, working at the Match Factory in St. Rose, La. for many years She was the mother of Twila “Tweety” Lee (Leon Davis), and the late Tyra Lee.
Sherlyn accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1985. She became a member of Tabernacle of Prayer under the leadership of Apostle Calvin Brown. Sherlyn loved the Lord, and she made sure to let everyone she encountered know about Jesus. She was an evangelist with a mind to win souls for God’s kingdom. She had a bright spirit and a contagious smile and laugh that impacted anyone she came into contact with. She later was a member of Kingdom Life Worship Center under the leadership of her nephew, Apostle Kevin Adams, Jr. Sherlyn truly loved people and she truly loved her family.
Sherlyn was called home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2021. She was 64 years old.
She leaves to cherish her memories, and is survived by her daughter Twila Lee of Laplace, La, 5 granddaughters Rakeia Lee, Tiareion Joseph, Teiona Joseph, Tyraneka Williams, and Raneisha Lee. 1 grandson Tyran Joseph; 1 brother Isaac Lee; 2 sisters Darlene Adams (Kevin Sr.) of Laplace, La., and Paula Jones (Todd) of New Sarpy, La;11 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Lee and Mary Ann P. Smith, and daughter, Tyra Lee.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life service which will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 11:00 a.m. at Fresh Faith Worship Center, 1164 E. Harding St, New Sarpy, La 70078. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m.-11:00a.m. Apostle Kevin Adams Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery, 200 Short St. St. Rose, La 70087. In accordance with the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 all in attendance must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H.
