Shannon Renone Summers, Sr., a native of Lucy and resident of Paradis, Louisiana, departed this life unexpectedly on Thursday, July 27, 2023 in Branson, Missouri. Mr. Summers was born on December 22, 1978 to Morris James and Barbara Summers James. Mr. Summers was baptized at an early age at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Edgard. He was employed by Meyers Inc. in New Orleans East. In life, Mr. Summers was a humble and quiet individual that deeply loved his children, his brand-new granddaughter, and his beloved “BAE,” Crystal. His life was well lived, and his memory will last forever in the hearts of his family and those who loved him most.
Mr. Summers is preceded in death by His Father: Morris “Rock” James, His Brother: Carloss D. Summers, His Paternal Grandmother: Evenlyn James Simmons, His Maternal Grandmother: Edna Mae Summers, and several uncles and cousins.

He is survived by his lifelong companion and the love of his life, Crystal L. Elkin, Their Children: Shannon R. Summers, Jr., Daisha M. Summers, and Ty M. Summers, Their Only Granddaughter: Ariyah Lynn Fourcha, Their Godchild: Kavon C. Washington. His Mother: Barbara Summers James, His Siblings: Morris Bernard, Catherine Byrd, Lora Dumas, Trenell Gilmore, Shantell Smith, Stephanie Summers, and Stacy Summers. Additional survivors include numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends!

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors Officers and Members of Canaan Baptist Church, and employees of Meyers Warehouse, Inc. are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from Canaan Baptist Church of Killona, 319 Killona Drive, Killona, LA. Reverend Henry Wolfe, Jr., Pastor-Officiant. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the above-named church.
