Samuel Lee Wilson Obituary

Gone from our presence, Forever in our hearts.

... to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord

2 Corinthians 5:8

Samuel Lee Wilson was called home on July 13, 2024. Samuel was born to the union of the late George and Olivia Wilson, on May 21, 1957. Due to the passing of his parents at an early age, he was blessed to have a caring loving aunt and Uncle (Ellen and Sim Wilson) to comfort and guide him throughout life’s journey.

He accepted and was baptized in Christ at an early age. He had a love for cutting grass. Though he had no children of his own, he always made sure to tell his nieces and nephews how much he loved them. They cherished each moment spent with him. He also had a gift when it came to sharing memories of his siblings and the time they spent together. He had a way of bringing the past to life of the deep bond that connected them. We loved hearing these stories over and over bringing laughter, nostalgia and a deeper appreciation for the bonds they shared and our childhood. He often spoke of his eagerness to reunite with them. Though we will miss him dearly , we find comfort in knowing he is joyfully reunited with them again. His legacy of love and sharing memories will forever live on in our hearts.

Surely Sam will be missed by all who knew and loved him especially his nieces and nephews. However, he will be remembered as a loving brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

He was proceeded in death by his loving parents George and Olivia Wilson, , two sisters Shirley Johnson & Barbara Ann Zeno; five brothers George Jr., Donnell, James, Joseph (Joe) and Kenneth Wilson; two aunts Ellen Wilson & Lydia Hampton; two uncles, Sim Wilson and James Bibbins and nephews, Matthew Haynes, Rayquan Mason, Morrel Wilson and close cousin Dorothy (Lizzie) Wilson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his nieces and nephews, Nicole Smith, Chantel and Kenyanna, Lacardio, and Nieontra Wilson, Taquana Mason, Therron and Damon Zeno, Tranada Evans, Latonia, Tawanda and George Haynes, Atoshia Reimonenq, Elton Green, and Keith and Kevin Thigpen, Aunts Fannie White and Martha Bibbins Lanus of New Orleans, Louisiana; brother in law Wyles Zeno of Laplace, Louisiana and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
