Samuel Davis, Jr. was born on January 12, 1949 to the late Samual Davis, Sr. and Mildred August Davis. He departed this life on October 18, 2023 at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve, LA. Sammy accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was later baptized. He was previously married to Gloria Ann Ceaser and to this union they welcomed their only child, LaJaune Davis. He was educated in the St. John Parish public School system and furthered his education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. He joined and proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware for many years. If you ever met Sammy, he was someone you would never forget. Those who knew him, knew he would not shy away from conversations of Religion, Politics, Government, or any other subject he was passionate about and felt he was always right. Sammy loved fishing, attended every concert that was in the area, and was an avid, diehard New Orleans Saints fan. Sammy will be dearly missed. He leaves cherished memories with his beloved daughter LaJuane L. Davis; 4 grandchildren; DeNaya and Derrion Davis, Dalaceia Small (Lorio), and Dervon Davis. They were the joys of his life. He leaves 9 great grandchildren; Aiyannah, Madden, Aidyn, Baylee, Halo, Karter, Hailyn, Malani and Kari; a dear and devoted niece and nephew, Catina D. Foster and Damon Davis; 3 brothers; Michael August (Altha), Ricky Davis (Brenda) and Darryl Davis, Sr. (April); 2 close friends John Green and Alfred Robertson. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and 4 Godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Deborah Davis and great granddaughter Haleigh Davis. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at From My Heart to Yours Family Worship Center, 119 W. 5th Street, LaPlace, LA 70068. Pastor Carla Ceasar Jones-Officiant. Visitation will be from 9:00am until 11:00am at the above-named location. Interment will be private. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
