Ruby Ann Sanders Griffin, affectionately called RURU (by Taylor Griffin) entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the age of 74. Ruby was born on December 31,1949 to the late Harry, Sr., and Hattie Sanders. She was a native and lifelong resident of Reserve, LA.

Ruby graduated from Fifth Ward High School and attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a dedicated employee of the Marathon Petroleum Company where she was employed until her retirement.  Ruby spread love and joy wherever she went, her presence was a gift to many. She found happiness in the simplest things like spending time with her family and shopping. Ruby enjoyed cooking holiday meals for her grandchildren which brought her immense joy. Watching her grandchildren grow up filled her heart with pride. She was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, attending the 11:00am mass on Sundays. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Sanders Sr. and Hattie Sanders, her husband of 48 years Robert Griffin Jr. Her siblings Mable Sandy, Oralee Jack Leroy Sanders, Sr., and her nephew Trevor Sanders.

Ruby is survived by her sons Copeland and Jamaal (Tyra) Griffin: her grandchildren Taylor, Kade, and Kyndal Griffin, Lauryn Baloney, and Jayden Brown, her brothers Harry “Billy” Sanders, Jr. (Lorraine), Michael Sanders Sr. (Doreen), David Sanders (Laverne), and her sister Rosalind Sanders. She also leaves to cherish her memories, 3 brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, Priest and Parishioners of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and all surrounding churches are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 772 LA-44, Reserve, LA 70084. Visitation 8:00am until time of service at the above-named church. Interment St. John Memorial Garden, 2205 W. Airline Hwy, Laplace, LA 70068.  There will also be a visitation from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the Patrick H. Sanders Funeral Home, 605 Main Street, Laplace, LA 70068.
