Royal Becnel, III transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Veterans Memorial Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the son of the late Royal Becnel, Jr. and Mariah Clark Becnel. Father of Erica Becnel Simpson, Keith Becnel, Charlotte Becnel and Damon Becnel. Brother of Velonia (Dan) Pearl of Detroit, MI, Antoine (Joann) Becnel, Diane Marshall, Patricia (the late Frederick) Tombar, Shelton Becnel, Gregory (Jezelle) Becnel, Sherry (Charla) Desvignes and the late Barbara Woods and Godfrey Becnel. He had 10 grandchildren, Keisha Simpson, Shayna Cloud, Eric Simpson, Sydney Cloud Cannon (Derrick), Shelby Cloud, Earon Simpson, Stephen Cloud (Alexis), Breanna Becnel, Breanca Simpson, Syreeta Cloud, and 4 great grandchildren. Also survived by his devoted friends Arnold Spooner and Herman Doris, also a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of American Legion Post 507 (Former Commander) and VFW Post 11455. He was the Owner and Founder of Bec’s Auto Service, Ama, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, Frank Crowley Masonic Lodge, George Washington Carver High School Class of 1961, Hahnville, LA. Pastor, officers and members of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and all surrounding churches are invited to attend the funeral service at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1807 Rev. John Raphael Way, New Orleans, LA 70113, on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Jamaal Weathersby-Pastor-Officiant. Visitation at above name church at 9:00 A.M. until time of service. Interment following at St. Mary Cemetery Ama, LA. In accordance with the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 all in attendance must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
