Rosalind D. Edwards

1957 - 2025

Rosalind D. Edwards affectionately known as “Roz” and “Bee” was born on May 23, 1957, in New Orleans LA to the late Olivia Simmons Griffin and Alex Griffin, Jr. Rosalind accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized by the late Rev. Albert Green at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boutte, LA at a very young age.  She continued to attend Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served as an Usher until God called her home.

On April 12, 2025, Rosalind entered into eternal rest at the age of 67. Rosalind leaves to cherish her fond memories, her children: Otis, Jr., Tyrone (Lisa), and Damaine Davis, Sr. Her two sisters: Beverly G. Cole-Cook (Michael) and Sandra Stipe. One Brother Eric Griffin (Sharon), four Grandchildren: Damaine Davis, Jr., Olivia, Emerie, and Anorah Davis. One sister-in-law Janice Griffin also two Godchildren: Tasha Willis and Reon Bailey. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She also leaves her devoted friend/daughter Sheila Sandolph and devoted brother Eric Griffin and brother-in-law Michael Cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mitchell Edwards, Sr., her parents Olivia and Alex Griffin, Jr., her brothers Alex, III and Bernard Griffin, her sisters Judy Ann Griffin and Barbara Pitts.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Mt. Zion Community Church, employees of Walmart #2913, St. Charles Parish Hospital and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00am on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Mt. Zion Community Church, 107 Magnolia Ridge, Boutte, LA 70039.  Visitation 9:00am until time of service at the above-named Church. Interment Mt. Zion Garden Memories, Paul Maillard Rd, Boutte, LA.
