Sis. Rosalee “Rosie” Diggs

1938 - 2026

Rosalee Diggs transitioned from her earthly life on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the age of 88.

Rosalee, affectionately known as Rosie, was the tenth child of eleven born to the late Lena Boyd Diggs and Willie Diggs Sr. on February 2, 1938. She was the loving mother of two children: Wilbert Diggs and Jara Diggs. Rosie was baptized at an early age, at Mount Airy Baptist Church of Boutte, by the late Reverend Harry Davis. Rosie was the historian of the family.  She helped with the Diggs first family reunion for the research of our ancestors. She loved cooking, watching sports, and reading the newspaper.

Rosie leaves to treasure her precious memories to her children; Wilbert Diggs (the Late Sylvia) and Jara Lynn Diggs (Willard). Grandchildren: Paula Smith (The Late Henry), Paulette Hardy (Ronald) Tina Jackson (Patrick), Laquinn Ingram, Gary Diggs, Gregory Diggs (Sheena), Keith Hill (Tomacenia), Brittany Anjell Scott; eighteen great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and her brother David Diggs, Sr.(Gloria). She also leaves behind two dear friends; Shelia Harris and Elithe Washington and one godchild Keeyan Williams.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents: Lena Boyd Diggs and Willie Diggs Sr.; great grandson: Raylon Hardy; her siblings: Willie Diggs Jr., John( Dorthy) Diggs Sr., Leonard (Hannah) Diggs, Leo Diggs, Andrew (Sadie) Diggs Sr., Wilfred (Beulah) Diggs Sr., Louisiana Diggs, Leola Diggs, Georgiana (Pendleton Sr.) Williams and Mildred G. Diggs; nephews and nieces: Helena, Calvin Sr., Elodie, Annabelle, Betty, Wilfred Jr., Alvin, Andrew Jr., Leonard, Larry, Joseph, Elise, Marilynn, Leonard Jr., David Jr., Edward, Isabelle, and Ronald, and daughter-in- law; Sylvia, son-in-law; Henry and her dear friend Rose Bradford.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastor, officers and members of Mt. Airy Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Home Going Celebration at 11:00am on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 13635 Old Spanish Trail, Boutte, LA 70039.  Rev. Clyde Staes, Pastor-Officiant.  Visitation 9:00am until the time of service at the above-named Church.  Interment Mt. Airy Baptist Cemetery, Boutte, LA.  Final Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H.
