Ronald Edwards Obituary

LIFE & LEGACY OF RONALD PAUL (COOKIE) EDWARDS

Ronald Paul Edwards affectionately called “Cookie” answered the Master’s call and his soul entered the gates of heaven to live eternity with the Lord on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, age 61.

Brother Ronald Paul Edwards was born on October 24, 1962, to Mitchell Edwards and Shirley Porche Edwards in New Orleans, LA.

Ronald was educated in the St. John Parish Public School System. At the age of 16, he learned the trade of sheetrock. Later in life, he started his own business called, “COOKIE’S DRYWALL”, which he owned and operated for 28 years.

On February 12, 1998, he was united in Holy Matrimony with his soul mate and best friend, Goldie White of Boutte, LA. He was a dedicated and devoted husband to Goldie for 26 years. Ronald was a loving father to Rontrell and Kasey, and a dotting grandfather to Mackenzie, Judah and Adalynn and godfather to Damon Pierce.

Ronald was baptized on July 23, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Paradis under the leadership of Pastor Lionel Mason. There, he served dutifully on the Security Ministry Team. He loved his church and his church family with all his heart. To all that knew him, he was a humble and courteous person. He loved spending time with his nephews, playing dominoes with friends after work, shooting pool, and fishing. He was known for his sense of humor. Ronald, “Cookie”, was a FAMILY MAN. He never missed a school, sporting, or military event in which his kids were involved. His grandchildren were the apple of his eyes. Each one had their own special nickname. He had a way of making everyone feel special that he came in contact with.

Treasured memories will forever be embedded in the hearts of his devoted wife, Goldie White Edwards, his son, Rontrell and daughter-in-law, Rachel Edwards of Monroe, Ohio; daughter Kasey Thomas of Luling, La. Grandchildren: Mackenzie Thomas, Judah and Adalynn Edwards. God son, Damon Pierce. Siblings, Mitchell ( Melinda) Edwards Jr, Ray (Dora ) Edwards , Rita ( Bernard) Jarrow, Larry ( Alice) Edwards , Henry ( Carolyn) Edwards, and Darrell (Josephine) Edwards ; His in-laws : Stephanie ( Michael ) Meyer, Dewayne White, Phyllis ( Joseph ) Smith , Agnes ( Wayne , Sr. ) Baloney, Tracey White , and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
