Reginald "Ricky" Lennix Obituary
Reginald "Ricky" Lennix
1955 - 2026
Reginald “Ricky” Lennix was born on November 11, 1955, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Mitchell Lennix, Jr. and Delores Watkins Lennix.
Shortly after graduating from Leon Godchaux High School in 1973, he enlisted in the United States Navy. In the Navy, he demonstrated dedication and honor, serving at the close of the Vietnam War. During his time in service, he served as a Chief Petty Officer and was entrusted with the leadership of hundreds of sailors. His Naval career ended after sustaining injuries during his service. Upon returning home, Ricky lived a happy, simple life. He had a heart of gold, a spirit full of laughter and an unmatched love for people. He never met a stranger and made everyone feel like family. Everyone who knew his can attest to his love for God, reading the Bible, cookies, peppermints, a good time and his “MAMA.” Ricky accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was a member of the Assembly Christian Church, Reserve, LA. He loved praise, worship, and shouting Hallelujah.
Ricky departed this life on May 26, 2026, surrounded by love and prayers. He is preceded in death by his beloved father, Mitchell Lennix, Jr., Mother Delores Watkins Lennix, and brother Alvin Lennix.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his sisters Loyce Watson (Pete), Joyce Farlough (Harris), Eileen Lennix, Paulette Hargrave (David), Vada Bridges (Darrell), and brother Dwight Lennix, who loved him dearly. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones who will miss him greatly.
Though he maybe gone from our sight, his memory and song (DA-DA) will live on in our hearts forever. Rest easy, Rick… You’ve earned your wings.
