Nathan Lewis, Sr. Obituary

Nathan Lewis, Sr.

July 28, 1960-October 3, 2022

This day has brought great grief but our love is GREATER. Nathan Lewis Sr. will be enormously missed. Born on July 28, 1960, Nathan transitioned from this earthly life on Monday, October 3, 2022, at his residence in Killona, LA. Nathan is the son of the late Johnny and Julia Ann Lewis, Sr.  Nathan was the beloved father of Nykeita Lewis Dent (Byron Jr.) and Nathan Lewis Jr.  and grandfather to Jaden Dent, Jalen Dent, Briyell Dent, Nathan Lewis III, and Niyell Lewis. Nathan adored his grandchildren and was so proud of their accomplishments, from school promotions to high school graduations. His love for his grandchildren was evident. He cherished the time and laughs he shared with them.

Nathan retired as a Supervisor from ADM Grain Company located in Ama, LA. Where he worked for over 20 years. He was a graduate of Hahnville High School.
Nathan was strong-willed with a gentle heart. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at a young age. Nathan was baptized at Children of Israel Baptist Church by Rev. John B. Davis Jr.
Nathan enjoyed helping his family. He maintained the lawns of his loved ones in his leisure time, often jokingly referring to it as his “exercise.” His service to others, humility, and strength will never be forgotten.

Age 62, Nathan is the brother of Patricia Lewis Downing (James), Navada Lewis Borne, David Lewis, the late Michael A. Williams, Johnny Lewis, Jr., and Gilbert Lewis. Brother in law of Wanda Williams. Godfather to Jonte’ Knight, Jasmine Mitchell, and Valaune George. Godson to the late Rev. Frank Raymond and Mamie Darensburg. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Nathan was our father, pawpaw, brother, and uncle his life was a blessing, the time we spent with him was a gift, and he’ll hold a place in our hearts beyond measure.
