Monica Lenore Campbell

Monica Lenore Campbell was the third daughter to the late Eddie Michael Jefferson and Evelina B. Jefferson, born on March 02, 1967, in New Orleans, LA. She was united in marriage to Demetre Campbell on October 10th,1986. To that union, one son was born, Marcus Anthony Campbell, Sr. Monica accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior as a young child at New Union Baptist Church in Taft, LA. She was Baptized by the late Rev. John B. Davis.
As a Class of 1985 graduate of Hahnville High School and attended Nicholls State University. She was employed by several Home Health Agencies doing what she loved most, helping the sick and those in need. Later, she went on to work at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana and then Touro Infirmary in New Orleans for many years.
Monica enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She found pleasure in trying unique recipes and sharing new dishes. She also enjoyed shopping, crafting, party planning and being social with her friends, family and colleagues.
On Friday February 25, 2022, 7:51 AM at Ochsner Medical Center (Kenner Regional Campus) Monica was called to be with the Lord for her eternal rest.
Monica is preceded in death by her grandson Marcus Anthony Campbell, Jr. (MJ), her father Eddie Michael Jefferson, her mother-in-law Janice and father-in-law Arthur Campbell and grandparents Rayfield and Ada Brimmer and Charles and Sara Jefferson.
Monica Lenore Campbell leaves to cherish her memories her husband Demetre Campbell, her only son Marcus A. Campbell, Sr. & future daughter-in-law Stacey Baptiste. Her granddaughter Marcie Jordan Campbell, and Taylor and Timothy Andrews Jr. Her Mother Evelina Jefferson, three sisters, Lisa Thomas (Larry) Tamica Revader (Barcelia), and Keisha Smith (Derek.) Brother-in-laws Jeffery Campbell (Alison) Hilary Campbell (Debra) Kenneth Campbell and sister-in-law Shawain Campbell. Her two goddaughters Ebonie Thomas and Imani Wilson. Her beloved great nieces Baliegh Joseph, Meila and Gaia Myers and great nephew Hayden Joseph. Her Godparents Myrtle Boyd and Donald Brimmer, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to the funeral service on Saturday, March 12, 2022, 11:00 am at Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church, 14989 River Rd, Hahnville, LA 70057. Rev. Rodney Johnson-Pastor/Officiant. In accordance with the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 all in attendance must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Visitation at the above- named church at 9:00 am until time of service. Interment Bethlehem Cemetery, Hahnville, LA. Final Arrangement entrusted to Patrick H.
