Michael “Ice Mike” Harris, Jr.
Michael Harris, Jr., lovingly known as "Ice Mike" and often called Michael, Jr. by his friends and family, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the age of 49.
Born on September 8, 1976, to the late Michael Harris, Sr. and Barbara Joseph Gullage, he was a proud native of Boutte, Louisiana, and a resilient resident of New Orleans. His life inspired those around him, leaving a legacy of positivity and strength.
He was a devoted father to ten children whom he cherished deeply, and he shared a strong bond with his brother Jordan Harris.
He graduated from Hahnville High School in 1995. From a young age, he was actively involved in recreational sports, playing football, basketball, and baseball, a passion that he carried throughout his high school years. His love for fishing gave him peace in quiet moments; music and hooking up speaker setups brought him joy and fulfillment. Michael also enjoyed the excitement of car racing, and he was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, always supporting his favorite football team. Living by the saying "Once a Cowboy, always a Cowboy."
He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Barbara and Minister Phillip Gullage, Jr., his brother, Jordan (Sintrell) Harris; his children: Jarvis Richard, Mikelra Richard, Dashia Hill, Michael Harris III, Khoury Harris, Diamonique Hill, Monica Gullage, Camerron Harris, and Mika Harris; his companion: Regina Anderson; three stepchildren; eight grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; a niece; his grandmother, Audrey Joseph; step-grandfather: Phillip Gullage Sr.; aunts: Charlene Thigpen, Yolanda Anderson, Pastor Laura (Preston)Taylor, Thelma LeGaux, and Carolyn Wills; uncles: Samuel (Yvette) Joseph, Michael Joseph,Thomas (Theresa) Joseph, Michael “PoPo” Joseph, Derrick Myles, and Donald Harris Sr.; godmother: Joan White; godfather Lennix Harris; devoted friend: Marvin Taylor, Terry Hensley and Terrance P. Robinson; the Gullage family; numerous great aunts, cousins, and friends. His time among us was a blessing, his remembrance treasured, and the love he left behind continues to inspire.
