Marcia Gale August-Holden, a native of Chicago, IL, and resident of Edgard, LA, was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the age of 70. Marcia was born on March 5, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the youngest of seven children born to the late Theophile and Marie Jarreau-August. She attended Richard T. Crane High School, worked in the hospitality industry and enjoyed cooking, nature, and traveling.

Marcia is the mother of: Tyeeta Holden-LeBeauf (Craig Handy) and Gala Holden (Charo); Grandmother of: Asya, Ayrian, Gala II and Giage; Great-grandmother of: Dakota, Deron II, Jordyn and Gianna and sister of: Barbara Bedford, Katherine August and Carl August.

Marcia practiced her faith at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, attending festivals, eating at various places and was a lover of life.

Her precious memories will forever be cherished by her loving children: Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren; two sisters and brother. She is preceded in death by her parents: Theophile and Marie August; Sisters: Doris Mallory, Elaine Cook and brother: Cornell August.

Relatives and friends of the family, Priests and Parishioners of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to a Funeral Mass remembering and honor the life of Marcia Gale Holden at 10:00am on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2349 LA-18, Edgard, LA  70049.  Rev. Robustiano Morgia-Celebrant. Visitation 8:00 until the time of funeral at the above-named church. Interment St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
