Lydia Marie Francis

May 11, 1964 - November 29, 2023

Lydia Marie Francis entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in Baton Rouge, LA.  She was born on May 11, 1964 to the late Gloria “Glo” Addison Francis in New Orleans, LA.  She was the devoted mother of her three children; Dorian, Sr., Andrew, Sr. and Ebony Francis.   

In 2005 Hurricane Katrina relocated her to Baton Rouge, LA.  Lydia dedicated her life to Christ and joined The Grace House Church under the leadership of Pastor Jeffery Turner.  Lydia was employed by the company Labor Finders for 14 years.

Lydia was preceded in death by her mother Gloria Francis, her sister Jacquelyn “Jackie” Francis and her brother Michael “Daddy Yoe” Francis, her grandmother Lillian “Mama Lillie” Mitchell and four nephews, Calvin Lewis Sr., Kelvin and Donald “Strapp” Francis and Michael “Flash” Stradford, Sr.

Lydia leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Dorian, Sr., Andrew, Sr. and Ebony Francis. Her 12 grandchildren. Lydia was the youngest of 7 children, her siblings Marcella Collins, Kelvin (Racquel) Francis, Roselyn (Sylvester) Williams, Elliott Francis and Lynette Johnson, her aunts Geraldine Caravanas and Merian Cross and her uncle Robert “Uncle Bob” Mitchell also host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who she loved and adored.

Relative and friends of the family, Pastor, Officers and Members of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to a Celebration of Life at 10:00am on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church.  1738 L B Landry Avenue, Algiers, LA  70114.  Rev. Normal N. Francis-Host Pastor.   Visitation 8:00am until time of service at the above-named church.  Interment will Private.  Final Arrangements Entrusted Patrick H.
