Lois Ann Johnson 

July 7, 1937 – October 19, 2023 

Lois Ann (August) Johnson entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 19, 2023, age 86. She was born on July 7, 1937 as the cherished daughter of Hazel Washington August and Clifford “Boule” August. Lois was the second of seven siblings and was filled with ambitions and dreams as a little girl in Lucy, LA. Lois and her fiancé Victor Johnson set off to Chicago, IL to build a better life. They were united in matrimony for 57 years and to this union they were blessed with one daughter, Gail Johnson Fells. 

Lois attended Beauty School in Chicago. Where she excelled in school and became a board certified cosmetologist. Lois had an extensive career as a cosmetologist which included Global Studies. She was employed as the  Educational Director at Johnson Products. She was instrumental in introducing the world to the “Jheri Curl”. She would later become an owner of two salons, as the sole proprietor of “LoJo Salons, Ltd.” Lois left her mark on the cosmetology industry for 50 plus years.

Lois is survived by her daughter Gail, grandchildren; Allisa, Danielle and Victor; two  great grandchildren, Naomi and Victor Semaj; two sisters, Slata Mae “Minnie” Hilaire and Barbara “Babae” Moll; cherished sisters-on-law; Lillian “Babe” August, Victoria Hatchet and  Earline “Tiki” Johnson; Special Son, Terry Paige; God Children; Fatima Johnson, Shirley  Sloan, Sherri Williams and Donovan Perkins and a multitude of nieces, nephews,  cousins and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Victor Johnson, granddaughter, Tiffany Ann Stipe, her siblings; Clifford “Buut” August, Jr., Larry “Fish” August, Albert August and Brenda August.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at The Gathering Place, 124 West 7th Street, Reserve, LA 70084. Rev. Eldridge Moll-Officiant. Visitation from 10:00am until time of Service at the above named location. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, 706 Paul Maillard Rd, Luling, LA 70070.
