Kevin "Pookie" Bartley

Kevin “Pookie” Bartley transitioned to his heavenly life on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.  He was born on September 10, 1963 to the union of the late Ernest Bartley, Jr. and Celestine Dent Bartley.  He was the loving husband of Patricia Bartley and to this union was one daughter Kevia Bartley.  He was the grandfather of Jamarion Armanti Green. He was the brother of Byron Dent, Kenneth Davis, Anthony (Trashon) Davis, Nathaniel Bartley, Darrell Bartley, Ernest Mitchell, Leroy Toney; Rhonda (Albert) Mitt, Patricia Leblanc, Betty (Bruce) Domino, Sheila Wilson and the late Arthur Davis, Jr.  He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

 Kevin was a certified welder. He was ordained as a minister on January 21, 2006 by Bishop Otis Kenner, II.  He loved writing poems. He sent a few to Hallmark. He was a comedian at heart. Kevin was a very fun-loving person.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

He is also preceded in death by his nephew Kenneth Davis, Jr.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers, and Members of New Union Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to a Home Going Celebration on Saturday, December 24, 2022, 11:00 am at New Union Baptist Church, 16227 River Road (Hwy 18) Taft, LA. In accordance with the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 mask are suggested for all in attendance and practice social distancing.  Visitation 9:00 am until time of service at the above-named church. Interment Killona Resthaven Cemetery, Mary Plantation Rd-Hwy 3141, Killona, LA  70057.  Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
