Kerry Henry Sr., age 78, of Algiers, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026.
Kerry was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great‑grandfather, and cherished family member whose life was marked by love, strength, and dedication to his family. His presence brought comfort, and his memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Earline Cooper Henry; his loving children, Doris (Spencer) Dawson, Kerry (Mieka) Henry Jr., Torento Henry, Kevin (Lencquince) Henry, and Sharell (Gregory) Boyd; his cherished grandchildren, Kerrion, Khaliq, Spennita, Coleah, Spenquan, Sy’Rae, Kaci, Shakira, Khalia, McKenzie, and Kace; his beloved great‑grandchildren, Shamar and Jrue; his sister, Jeanne Henry; his brother, Gilbert (Marlene) Henry; his sisters‑in‑law, Margaret Wright, Beatrice (Wilbert) Wiggins, and Tamiko Cooper; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends..
Kerry was preceded in death by his parents, Odile Pierre Henry and Victor Henry Sr.; his parents‑in‑law, Pearl Jackson Cooper and Torento Cooper; his sisters, Verlin (Lloyd) Ancar, Alice (Alvin) Porter, Iona (Albert) Brown, and Essie (Dave) Charles; his brothers, Warren Henry, Victor (Sarah) Henry Jr., Theodore Henry, and Charles Henry; his sister‑in‑law, Eloise (Roscoe) Holmes; and the son he raised, Bobby (Patrice) Jefferson.
Relatives and friends of the family also Pastors, Officers and Members of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Providence Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches, Employee of Ochsner Medical Center, Ochsner Transplant Institute, Passage Hospice, Inspiration House, Faculty and Staff of Edna Karr High School, Former Faculty and Staff of L. B. Landry High School, and O. Perry Walker High Schools are invited to attend A Celebration of Life at 10:00am on Saturday April 11, 2026, at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L.B. Landry Avenue, Algiers, LA. Rev. Dr. Lawrence St. Cyre, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00am until the time of service. Interment in McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
