Johnny Perkins, affectionately known as “Stick N Move,” transitioned from his earthly home on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 surrounded by loved ones at the age of 57. Johnny was the 9th child born December 28, 1964 to the late John Ira, Sr. and Eursula Alexander Perkins.
Johnny was educated in the St. Charles Parish School system and worked as a Drywall Finisher. He was a very loving person, who never met a stranger. He had a big heart and would always lend a helping hand, whether you asked for it or not. He would give you his last, and most of the time, it was his last. He loved listening to music by his brother’s house but more importantly he loved his family, friends, and God. He was always a phone call away.
Johnny was that extra burst of energy at family functions who would say catchy phrases, tell everyone what to do, and how to do it all while keeping things in his line of order. He loved dining at restaurants and going out of town with his road dogs. Throughout the years he worked out of state as a Drywall Finisher, and even went as far as St. Croix. On the weekends he enjoyed working, in an unofficial capacity, as security for Cruise Control, parking lot attendant at the Mount Zion Community church, the on-site supervisor for NMR Holdings, and a volunteer with NFL Flag San Diego. Johnny will truly be missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
Johnny’s memory will forever by cherished by his children John (Onyria) Sam, Jarney, Jonnica, and Johnisha Bailey; his siblings Joseph, Jerry, Jimmy, and Janet Perkins, Joan Ella (Michael) Revader, Joyce (Ronald) Kalili, Judy (Randy) Jacob; ten grandchildren Aria, Chelsea, Desire, Nahria, Raissa, Iyana, Elaisa, Robert, Justin, and Jaron; four uncles George Falkin, Leslie Ferrande, Ulysses Gordon, and Donald Jackson, Sr.; one aunt Jean James and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A native of St. Charles Parish and resident of Boutte, La.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents John Ira, Sr. and Eursula Alexander Perkins; grandparents Willie Perkins & Dan Ella Gordon, Richard & Eursula Alexander, and siblings John, Jr., and Jason Perkins.
