Joanne Landix departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2025. She was born on September 22, 1951, to Vivian White Trent and Joseph Trent Sr. Joane was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Laplace, LA, age 73.
Joanne gave her life to Christ at the age of 9 and became a member of Little Zion Baptist Church. As a young girl, Joanne developed a passion for singing and used her angelic voice to glorify the Lord. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1969.
In December 1969, Joanne met and fell in love with Ezekiel Landix Jr. They were united in marriage on October 2, 1971, by Pastor Alfred Johnson at their family home. A couple of her favorite songs to sing were “Be Ye Steadfast” and “Safe in His Arms.” She touched many lives with her music and her unwavering devotion to God.
Joanne worked for Walmart for over 20 years, where she was a beloved and dedicated employee. When chosen to become a greeter, it was a role that perfectly matched her warm and welcoming spirit. Customers and coworkers alike will always remember her bright smile, kind words, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Joanne was a true believer in the Word of God. We know she has entered Heaven’s gates and is now singing joyfully among the angels. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing she has made it home, free from pain and sorrow, resting in peace, joy, and the arms of our Heavenly Father.
