Jimmie Diggs Jr., affectionately known as “Bart”, was called home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the age of 35. Bart was born on August 27, 1990, to Yvette Mott Diggs and Jimmie Diggs Sr. of Boutte, Louisiana.

Bart entered this world as a radiant gift — a gentle soul whose presence brought joy, tenderness, and light to all who were blessed to know him.

He was educated in the St. Charles Parish Public School System and proudly graduated from Hahnville High School in 2010. He was an active attendee at the Arc of St. Charles, an organization dedicated to providing services and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There, he received support and formed deep bonds with his mentors and peers.

Bart moved through this world in a way that many of us often forget to: he lived in the simple, sacred rhythms of every day. While his needs were special, the love he inspired was extraordinary. That love was most evident in the unwavering devotion of his parents, whose constant care created a sanctuary where Bart didn’t just live—he flourished.

Bart’s heart was as big as the places he traveled to. He found pure delight in the world’s wonders, from the magic of Disney World to the warm sands of Florida. He saw the bright lights of Las Vegas, felt the peace of the open sea on cruises, and found comfort in his visits to Mississippi, Atlanta, and Alabama.

At home, Bart found joy in the small wonders that many overlook — a favorite meal, the playful world of action figures and stickers, or the simple grace of greeting neighbors with a wave and a cheerful “good morning.” His kindness was effortless, his spirit gentle, and his presence a quiet blessing to his community. Through him, God reminded us that love is purest when it is simple, sincere, and freely given.

Bart leaves his precious memories to his parents, Yvette Diggs (Fernandez) and Jimmie Diggs Sr. (Darlene); grandmothers: Dorothy Mott (Ronald), Barbara Mott, and Lucy Jackson; siblings: Bryson Diggs (Gabrail), Breonna Diggs(Keith); bonus brother: Mekai Joseph; step- brother: Gerald Pierre(Mikia); nieces: Trinity Diggs, Za’Nye Pierre, British Diggs, Jaziah Diggs, and Mila Pierre; nephews: Romelo Diggs, Zion Pierre, Omari Daniels, Walter Nunnery Jr.; aunts: Catina Raymond( Adrian Sr.), Laura D. Gautreaux (Derres), Jessica Sumlin, Monita Bush, and Charlotte Flemming; uncles: James Diggs Sr, James J. Hall Jr. ( Kimani), Marcus Mott (Micquelon), Marcel Myles (Tequilla), Willie Sumlin, Stanley Bush, and Michael Bush(Joyce); godfather: Ronnie Sparks and a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Bart was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents: Louisiana Diggs and James Joseph Hall Sr. Maternal Grandfather; Irving Mott, His Aunt/Godmother; Helena Marie Diggs, His Uncle; Calvin Diggs Sr. His Cousin; Kameron Simon, Raylon Hardy, De Quinn Williams, and his great grandparents, great uncles, and great aunts.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, officers and members of Mt. Airy Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00am on Saturday, March 28, 202,6 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 13635 Old Spanish Trail, Boutte, LA  70039. Rev. Clyde Staes, Pastor-Officiant. Visitation 9:00am until the time of service at the above-named Church. Interment Mt.
