Jeanne "Fabiola" Louis
February 27, 1937 - May 19, 2025
Jeanne “Fabiola” Lagrange Louis on Monday, May 19, 2025, passed away peacefully in her home. Sister Fab was the youngest child born to the late Lucille and Freddie Lagrange in Lucy, Louisiana. Fabiola married the late Altis Louis Sr. and from their union of 64 years, nine children were born.
Sister Fabiola was first baptized at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Later, she united with Greater Saint Peter Baptist Church in Edgard, Louisiana, where she served faithfully as a deaconess until her passing. In 2005, she received her Certificate of Ordination in the field of Christian Mission, deepening her commitment to ministry and service. On May 19, 2025, she peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal home.
Throughout her 88 years of life, Sister Fabiola was known for her compassion and generosity. Her home was a place of welcome, where she lovingly fed anyone and everyone who walked through her door. She touched countless lives with her kindness, always extending a helping hand without hesitation.
Sister Fab worked outside the home for many years, dedicating herself to various roles with diligence and compassion. She was employed at Avondale Shipyard, a local sewing factory, and later served in multiple healthcare positions, where she provided excellent care to countless patients with warmth, respect, and devotion.
She leaves to cherish her memory in the heart and soul of her children, Altis June (Jackie) Louis Jr. Lawrence (Tammy) Lewis, Madeline (Wardell) Bowie, LA, Mary (Leo) Dumas, Alana (Alvin) Burke, Curtis (Heidi) Louis, Sarah Boudoin, and Denise Louis. In laws: Jeanette (Kernel)Bulter. Sister Fabiola is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will continue to cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents late Lucille and Freddie Lagrange, her husband Altis Louis Sr., her daughter Lisa Louis Rousell, her brother Rev. Allen Lagrange, sister Margaret Lay, sister in-laws, Viola Louis, Irma Lagrange, Cerelia Stipe, Helen Washington, Gloria Sloan.
Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and members of New St. Peter Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at New St. Peter Baptist Church, 200 W. 3rd Street Edgard, LA 70049. Rev. Vernon Alexander-Host Pastor and Rev. Roland Fiffie, Jr.- Officiating. Visitation 11:00am until time of service at the above-named Church. Interment St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, 2349 LA-18, Edgard, LA 70049. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
