A time to be born: Jamaar Joseph Cook was born on August 18, 1989, in New Orleans, LA to Murphy and Sylvia Cook. He was a big baby. He was 10lbs, 6oz at birth.
A time to live: Jamaar Joseph Cook received his education in the St. John the Baptist Parish School System. He attended Fifth ward Elementary and was a graduate of East St. John High School (Class of 2008). He attended Holmes Community College and Mississippi Valley State. He graduated from Mississippi Valley State University with a Bachelor’s degree in industrial Instrumentation and Engineering.
Jamaar Joseph Cook was baptized at an early age. Jamaar Joseph Cook was baptized by the late Rev. Eddie Coleman Sr. at St. Joseph House of Prayer in Kenner, LA. Jamaar Joseph Cook was a member of the Cruise Control Motorcycle Club from New Orleans, LA. Jamaar truly loved his bike and his club brothers. He had a special friendship with Patrick Anderson (Ghost) and Paul Adams (Trouble). Outside of the club, he had two more special friends Gibson Chigbu Jr. (Chig) and Kenneth Dwayne Hall.
A time to rejoice: Jamaar Joseph Cook peacefully accepted his Heavenly Father’s Call to His Heavenly Home in eternity on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his father: Murphy Cook of Baton Rouge, his mother: Sylvia Cook of Reserve, his brothers, Murphy Winfield of New Orleans and Anthony Cook of Newport News, Virginia. his goddaughters: Jala Wright of Kenner and Amari Brumfield of New Orleans, his sister-cousins: Kenya Wright of Kenner and Bianca Cage of Gretna. His grandparents: Hilton and Faith Farlough of Gonzales and Clara Farlough of Reserve. His paternal grandmother: Juanita Cook of LaPlace, his uncles: Jeffrey Farlough Wright (Gwendolyn Wright), Troy Cook, Shawn Cook and Darnell Cook. His aunts: Rosamary Gardner (Sam Gardner), Doris Hayes (Rudolph Hayes), Tonya Farlough Scott, Tena White, Felicia Farlough Cox (Kevin Cox), Desiree Cook, and Ivory Smith. His godmother Lisa Anderson. Jamaar leaves to cherish his memory, his girlfriend: Dominque McCormick and her beautiful daughter Demi Evans that he loved as his own. He will also be missed by his beloved dog Nippsey Cook.
Relatives and friends of the family also Pastors, Officers and Members of Bethlehem Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00am on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 146 E. 20th Street, Reserve, LA 70084.
