Jack Tobias Stokes Obituary

Jack Tobias Stokes

June 5, 1977 - December 13, 2025

Jack Tobias Stokes, age 48, of Ama, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on December 13, 2025. Born on June 5, 1977, and raised in the 6th Ward of New Orleans, Jack carried the spirit of his city with him throughout his life.

Jack was the beloved son of the late Daisy Tobias and John Stokes Sr. He grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, sharing life with his siblings Chientta, Lataisha (Malcolm), April (Chris), Sandra (Mark), Kizzy, Nina, Yolanda, Jermaine, and Jerome, and is now reunited in peace with his brothers John Jr. and Antoine.

Jack accepted Christ and was baptized on July 6, 2008, under the leadership of the late Pastor Kendall Pierre, Sr. This moment marked a meaningful chapter in his spiritual walk and remained an important part of his life.

On October 27, 2012, Jack married the love of his life, Tonyanekia, and together they built a beautiful family. He was a devoted husband and father to his children Cameron, Faith, Javan, and Xavier, who were the joy of his heart. Jack also shared a special bond with his beloved four-legged child, Polo, who was always by his side. He was also a proud godfather to Aubry Johnson and cherished his many nieces and nephews.

Jack had a passion for life that was unmistakable. A loyal fan of the New Orleans Saints, he celebrated every victory with pride. He enjoyed good food, traveling, collecting shoes, dressing sharply, and wearing his custom-made jewelry. At home, Jack found joy in cooking—often experimenting with new recipes—and keeping his surroundings spotless. His love for family, his sense of style, and his warm presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Jack was blessed with the guidance and friendship of his devoted mentor, Greg Brown, whose influence shaped much of his journey. He also cherished his work family at HydroChem, where he built lasting bonds and shared his dedication with colleagues who became family to him.

He is survived not only by his immediate family but also by his in-laws, Bruce and Ursula Kelly, and his sister-in-law Lindsay (Aaron) Johnson, who loved him dearly.

Jack’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and devotion. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his unwavering loyalty, and the way he brought people together. His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
