Joseph Alexander Washington was born on June 5, 1983, to the parents of Leroy and Marilyn Washington. He was baptized at Canaan Baptist Church in Killona, Louisiana, by the late Rev. James Powell Sr.
Joseph was better known as “Joe". Although he was very quiet, he was outspoken when he needed to be. He was devoted to his faith, his family, and his work. He always cherished any opportunity he had to spend time with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories his parents Leroy and Marilyn Washington, sibling Mary Washington-Friloux (Gavin) and Adam Washington; nephews Adonis and Adarius Friloux, Adam Jr. and Messiah Washington; nieces Eliza Friloux and Diamond Washington; uncles Manuel Johnson, Ronald Johnson (Marta), Lester Johnson (Joann), Landry Johnson (Latricia), Ronald Washington (Joycean), Bernie Johnson (Carolyn), James Johnson Jr. (Carolyn), Rudolph Johnson, Ray Washington, Richard Washington, Chris Washington (Leticia) Edward William (Elizabeth); Aunts Iris Johnson, Donna William, Barbara Washington, Rosalie Washington-Everett (Kenneth) and a host of cousins and friends. He will be especially missed by his beloved work crew at McDonald's of Westwego, LA.
He is preceded in the death by his grandparents James Johnson Jr. and Lula Mae Johnson; Leroy Washington Sr. and Margaret Washington; uncles Michael and Fredrick Johnson; cousins Demond Washington and Quinn Johnson.
He touched every person he came across and his presence will be truly missed.
Relatives, friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 10867 River Rd, Ama, LA. 70031. Rev. Jhontre Green of First Pilgrim Calvary-Officiant. In accordance with the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 all in attendance must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
