Izell Thomas, Jr. affectionately known as “Tom” entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2023 at the age of 79.  He was  born on February 3, 1945 to the late IsiahThomas, Sr. and Shirley Clay Thomas.  Izell attended school at Bethune High School in his native hometown of Norco, LA.  Izell was employed in the Construction Industry and was a member of the local 689 union.

He was the husband of Mavis D. (Red) Thomas.  Father of Bryan Watkins, Tangee Jones, Shannon Hewitt, Lincoy Reynaud. Stepfather of Sheri Williams and Courtney Drayton. God father of Dervol Zeno.  Brother of Ruth T. Coleman and Jacquelyn T. Zeno.  He was the proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He also had a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and members of Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, all neighboring churches and local union 689 are invited to the Funeral Service at 11:00am on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, 147 Cathy Street, Norco, LA  70079.  Rev. Tyrone Scott, Pastor-Officiant. Visitation 9:00am until time of service at the above-named church. Interment Providence #2, Montz, LA. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
