Helen Strickland Phillips, affectionately knowns as “D-Bird”, transitioned from her earthly life on Friday, July 22, 2022 at St. Charles Parish Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Leon Strickland and Willie Mae Green Strickland. Wife of the late Stanley Phillips, Sr.
She was the loving mother of Stanley (Ariane) Phillips, Jr., Latricia (John) Williams, Kimberly (Lonnie) Woods, Ranada (Terrell) Fields, McArthur (JaKeitha) Strickland and Malasia Strickland. Sister of Henry (Judy), Jules (Delores), Herbert, Odell and Odile Strickland, Gladys Williams and the late Ella Lee James, Freddie Mae Stewart, Percy Strickland, Evelyn Lockette, Ruth Strickland, Geraldine Louis, Yvonne Williams, Donnice Robertson, Elizabeth Washington and Willie Strickland. She was the devoted grandmother of 18 grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
