Heddie Mae Byes entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the age of 75. She was a native and lifelong resident of Algiers (Cutt-Off), LA. She was a graduate of L.B. Landry High School Class of 1970. Heddie was an active member of Second Nazarine Baptist Church. Heddie’s culinary talents were well known and loved by many. She especially enjoyed cooking for family, friends, and church gatherings. Devoted mother of Cicely and Ashley Byes. Grandmother of Ashton Byes. Daughter of the late Walter Brown Sr. and Audrey Jackson Duplessis. Sister of Roy Jackson (Elaine), Richard Smith (Shawn) John Duplessis, Walter Brown Sr. (Anna), Welton Brown (Judy), Nellie Ann Johnson and the late Betty Jean Thomas, Mary Ann Carter, Senobia Byes, August Jackson Sr., and Dalton Brown. Sister -n- law of Shirley Jackson Godmother of Barrinika Thornton and Kevin Carter; Devoted friends Lois Sanders, Gail Ross Johnson and Gloria Cook …Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, pastors, officers, and members of Second Nazarine Baptist Church, Second Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church and all neighboring churches, Employees of AT&T, Louisiana Superdome/New Orleans Arena Good Works, Divita Westbank Dialysis Center, Members of L.B. Landry Class of 1970, 1998, and 2002 are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday June 20, 2025 at 10:00am at Second Nazarine Baptist Church, 3062 Boyd St., Algiers, LA.. Pastor Peter L. Crawford, Jr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00 am until service time at the above-named Church. Interment: McDonogh Cemetery, Gretna, LA.  Final Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H.
