Gwendolyn "Gwen" Robertson

October 3, 1962 ~ February 27, 2022 (age 59)

Obituary

Gwendolyn  Robertson affectionately known as "Gwen" entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the age of 59, at her son's residence in Boutte, LA.  Gwen was born on October 3, 1962, to the late Evelina and Fernandez Robertson Sr. Born.    A native of Hahnville, LA and a resident of Kenner, LA for over 30 years.

She was educated and a graduate of the St. Charles Parish School System. She worked in the hospitality industry. She was employed by the A1 motel in Paradis, LA as a manager. As a resident of Kenner, she visited Cypress Grove Baptist Church, pastored by Rev. Fred Porter.

Gwen was a very strong willed, independent woman. A few things about Gwen, if you did not already know was that she was a true New Orleans Saints fan, she enjoyed listening to her Oldies, but Goodies music and she also loved her gospel music. She liked cooking, but most of all spending time with her family. Gwen’s grandbabies brought her the greatest joy of all. She always visited with family until her illness would not allow her to.

Gwendolyn “Gwen” leaves to cherish her memories, her children Markeitha Robertson, Henry Robertson (Aureille), and Diamond Robertson. Her grandchildren: Henry Young, Hallierua, James, and Harmani Robertson, I’zyirah and Makira Wilson, Dylan Solomon. Her siblings: Sandra Gair Stewart, Fernandez Jr, Larry, Gary (Gloria), Robin Robertson, Denene Thomas (Tracy), and Fredrick Taylor (Samantha). She is survived by her aunts and uncles Irma LaGrange, Elouise Matthews, Althea (Claude) Roberts, Wilhelmina (Rudy) Simmons, and Earl Augusta. In addition to her children, grandchildren, and siblings Gwendolyn Leaves to cherish her memory 19 nieces and nephews, 33 great nieces and nephews, 8 great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Catherine Robertson, her brother Donald Robertson, grandparents, 7 aunts and 4 uncles.

God has called home another Angel, another SAINT to add to his ever growing, everlasting and loving team. We may say she was taken away too soon because she was still so young, however she lived a good life, and she lived the way she wanted to live. Gwen fought her illness to the end. She is no longer of the flesh, but omnipresent in the spirit continuing to protect her loved ones, those near and far. We shall meet again.
