Gloria Zeringue Evans

1947 - 2025

Gloria Mae "Glo" Zeringue Evans took her eternal rest on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at her daughter's residence in New Sarpy, LA at age 77. She was born on September 18, 1947, in New Orleans, LA to the late Elton Zeringue, St. and Luberta Robertson Zeringue. She was a native of Vans Lane, New Sarpy, LA. Gloria accepted Christ in 2022 and was baptized by Bishop Otis Kenner, II. She was a faithful member of Fresh Faith Worship Center until she was called home.

Glo was united in holy matrimony to the late James Evans.  She was a wonderful mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, devoted sister, faithful cousin and loyal friend. She was a blessing to everyone who came in contact with her. Gloria had a passion and a heart filled with love for assisting in the rearing of several neighborhood children. She was always willing to help others whenever needed.

She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Glo leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Tomeka Evans (Daniel Perrilloux, Sr.); one grandson, Corey Bailey, Jr. (Ariella Romero), one great granddaughter, Lareia Pecolia Romero-Bailey. A sister, Oritha Z. Kenner. Two "Lil" brothers Sherman, Sr.(Trenella) Daigs and Darryl (Traci) Daigs; A devoted companion, James Johnson, Sr.; Besties: Shirley Mac Stewart, Ann Marie Smith, Donna Marie Smith of Capital Heights, MD, Donna Payton Alice Wells and Gloria Perrilloux. A devoted and loving family that called her Granny, Chris and Jennifer Savoie & The Coe & House Families; God Father Alvin Daigs, God Children; Maria Stella Turley, Johntae Wells and Clifton Blue. She had a host of bonus children, bonus grandchildren and bonus great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends.

Glo is preceded in death by her parents, Elton Sr. & Luberta Zeringue, her sister, Olla Mae Rue and brother Elton Zeringue, Jr., brother-in-law Calvin Kenner and her godchild, Wendy Pollard.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Fresh Faith Worship Center are invited to a Memorial Funeral Service at 11:00am on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Fresh Faith Worship Center, 1164 E. Harding Street, Destrehan, LA 70047.  Apostle Otis Kenner, II.-Officiant.  Interment will be private.  Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
