On Sunday, June 12, 2022, Guilliam Pierre, Jr. was called to his eternal resting place. While we are saddened by his transition, we know that God loves him best. Guilliam was born on January 21, 1930 to the late Katherine and Guilliam Pierre, Sr.
He married the late Anna Mae Pierre on January 25, 1958, and to this union, 4 children were born. Leotha Pollard (Albert, devoted son-in-law), Louester Boyd (Cassie), Gilliam Pierre (Tracey), and Gregory Pierre (Vanessa).
Guilliam was one of nine children: Alvin Pierre and the late Yvonne Davis, Ida Pierre, Rosa Marshall, Theresa Martin, Florence Burnette, Preston Pierre, and Alexander Pierre
Guilliam served in the United States Army from 1951-1953 as a private. He was a devoted laborer in the workforce for well over 30 years before retiring at the age of 65. Throughout his years in the workforce, Mr. P, as he was affectionately known in the parish worked at Lays Potato Chip Factory, River Parish Maintenance at Monsanto, and the St. Charles Parish School Board. Baptized at an early age, Guilliam was a devoted member of The Historic Bell Baptist Church until his death; he wore the title, Father of the Church, proudly and was a devoted member of the choir until he was physically unable to do so.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna Mae Pierre, his 5 sisters, 2 brothers and grandson Kylin J. Boyd.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his 4 children, grandchildren, Roy Darnell Boyd, Michael Pierre, Maranda Smith (Pastor Troy Smith), Thasha Pierre Simeon (Whitney), Ashley Pierre Williams, Brandon Pierre (Rnyshah), Mechelle Pollard, and LaTasha Miller. 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandson, two God-children Lola Marshall and Melanie Boyd, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Historic Bell Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2022, Historic Bell Baptist Church, 300 Hackberry Street, Luling, LA. 70070. Rev. Rodney Johnson-Pastor/Officiant. In accordance with the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 mask are suggested for all in attendance. Visitation 9:00 a.m. at the above-named church until time of service. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Luling, LA. Final Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H.
