Fred Allen “Fat’ Lee, Sr. was born on November 10, 1945, to the late Viola Lee Nelson. He departed this life on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Twin Oak Living Center in Laplace, Louisiana.
At an early age, Fred accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized by the late Rev. A. T. White. He moved to Kenner in the 60’s and became a member of Little Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Leroy Taylor.
He attended Concordia Parish Schools in Ferriday, Louisiana. Fred was employed at Hertz Rental until he retired. Everyone knew he was a 49ers fan.
On March 7, 1970, Fred was united the holy matrimony with Jerry Weary. To this union, the Lee family was blessed with one son, Fred Allen Lee, Jr.
He proceeded in death by his mother Viola Lee Nelson; stepfather Andrew Nelson;3 brothers Tom Evans, Authur Lewis Lee, and Robert Gultry; one sister Jane Lee; two brothers-in-law Alfred Byrd and Andrew Woods; one nephew, Alfred Byrd, Jr.
Fred leaves to cherish his memories, one loving son Fred (Jeanna) Lee, Jr. of Marrero; one loving grandson Tyler A. Lee of Marrero; one loving godchild Cassandra Byrd of Kenner; two loving sisters Emma Byrd of Laplace, La and Velvet Faye Nix of Clayton, LA; 3 brothers Glen (Shandra) Lee of Laplace, Donald Ray (Debbie) Lee of Dallas, Tx; Jerry and Luvata Lee of Clayton, La: devoted friends Jerry Warwick, Cousin Vedora Carson and McDonald’s Crew in Kenner.
Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, officers and Members of Little Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Service at 10:00am on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Little Zion Baptist Church, 2200 Kenner Avenue, Kenner, LA 70062. Visitation 9:00am until the time of service at the above-named Church. Interment will be private. Final Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H.
