Elouise Davis Matthews entered the gates of heaven on May 2, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Gramercy, LA at the age of 81. She was a native of Hahnville, Louisiana. She was the wife of the late Anthony Matthews, Sr., Daughter of the late Freddie Davis, Jr., and the late Florestine Gross Davis Augusta (Ernest). Mother of Darryl Williams Matthews (Pilor), Juan Matthews, Kenyan M. Marshall (Charles), Ken and Tony Matthews. Bonus children Anthony, Jr., Regina, and Patricia Matthews. Grandmother of 15 and Great Grandmother of 15. Sister of Althea Roberts (Claude), Wilhelmina Simmons (Roosevelt), Earl Augusta, and the late Evelina Marion Robertson, Lester Davis, Viola Gloria Sumler, Albertha Sue Alford, godmother of Robin Robertson and Errol Deggs. Also Survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She was a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, Hahnville, LA, and she was a member of Household of Ruth #1346 of Hahnville, LA.
