EDRICK LEE SMITH

1971 - 2024

Edrick L. Smith entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at his home in New Orleans, LA.  He was born on January 7, 1971 to Evangelist Ida L. Smith in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Edrick was a native of New Orleans and was educated in the Orleans Public School System where he graduated from John McDonald High School. Later Edrick attended The Trucking Institute and earned his CDL. He accepted Christ in his life at an early age.

Edrick was united in marriage to Dale Moore-Smith on February 21, 1997. To this union no children were born. Edrick was employed at Basco where he worked as long-haul and local truck driver since Hurricane Katrina. Edrick was affectionately called “E” by many who knew and loved him. He was an exceptional artist who enjoyed drawing, cooking, and listening to music. He loved spending time with his family and friends and sharing beautiful memories.              

Edrick was loved by all who knew him. His quiet and courageous spirit will be forever missed by his loved ones. He leaves to cherish his earthy memories; Wife: Dale Moore-Smith. One beloved daughter: Alexandria and one granddaughter. Mother: Evangelist Ida L. Smith, Adopted dad, Willie “Papa Bear” Shields, Sister: Felicia Rennie (Ian), Two brothers: Rasheed Smith (Lisa) and Nadab Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service from 11:00am until 2:00pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at The House of Memories, 1933 Stumpf Blvd, Suite B, Gretna, LA 70056.  Rev. Eddie M. Payne-Officiating. Interment will be private.  Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
