Doris Jean (Ladday) Williams

Doris Jean Williams passed away at her home on Monday, March 14, 2022 in Kenner, LA.  She was born on August 16, 1954 to the late Earnest Ladday, Sr. and Thelma Lee Bateman.  She was a native of Patterson, LA and a resident of Kenner, LA.

She is survived by her husband Ray Francois, Jr. her two children Thelma Shawayne Glover Wiltz (late Dominic) and James Anthony Williams, III.  Her grandchildren Malaysia K. Glover, Dominic C. Wiltz Jr, Semaj D. Williams, Jayden A. Williams. Her siblings Larry Norman Sr, Sylvia Norman Randolph, Earnest Ladday Jr, Janice Johnson (Edward), Karen Bowers, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews. She was proceeded in death by her father Ernest Ladday Sr, her mother Thelma Lee Bateman, her stepfather Albert Bateman, and her Sister Beverly Ann Norman.

Memories:

Doris was Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 1, 1983. Though her health limitations often held her back, she stilled had a strong zeal for Jehovah and the Ministry. Her biggest hope was that everyone would come to know Jehovah. Especially her family because she hated the thought of leaving the ones she loved behind. She loved her children and grandchildren so much.

She was a graduate of Grace King High. She was a r graduate of Bryman College with a Certificate in Medical Billing and Coding. She later attended Moller Beauty College where she received a license in Cosmetology.  She was a known stylist and Salon Owner in the community. Doris Had some of her happiest moments working alongside her daughter and other talented stylist in the salon that she opened with her second husband the late James A. Williams Jr.

She was outspoken yet soft-hearted, always making sure you were fed. Doris loved to laugh, she had a laugh like no other. With the most beautiful smile that could light up any room.
