Debra S. White-Stewart,49, a therapist for the NET: East (formerly New Orleans Accelerated High School) passed away peacefully at the Slidell Memorial Hospital on Monday, October 23, 2023. Born to Richard Carl White, Sr., and Avery Jones White, on January 22, 1974.
Debra was a native of Paradis, LA and a resident of Slidell, LA. She was a graduate of John Ehret High School. She received a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and a specialization in General Family Therapy from North Central University and a Bachelor of General Studies from the University of New Orleans. She was a mentor at heart and was always surrounded by and loved working with children/people. The memories of Debra will forever be engraved in the hearts of her children: her daughter Shateiana S. White and son Kollyn Stewart; grandchildren, De’John White, Keith White, Kaden White, Hayden Riggings and Devrick Graines,; Five sisters: Ruby (Carl) Franklin, Jennifer (Louis) Moore, Thedra White, Elna (Johnnie) Brown, Angelique (Sheila) Mathieu; six brothers: Ronald, Sheldon, Sherwin, Lance, Jason and Daniel White; godchildren; Eric White, Mar’Kenya White and Enjoli Brewer; her godfather Charles Robinson, Jr. and her best friend Angel “Amy” Ruth-Rabb, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents Richard White, Sr., and Avery White, two brother; Richard C. White, Jr. and Shane T. White, grandparents John and Elna White, Mac Jones and Ruby Wollens.
Relatives and friends of the family, members of Glory Temple Evangelistic Church of Marrero, LA, Mount Airy Baptist Church of Boutte, LA, First Baptist Church of Paradis, LA, and all neighboring Churches along with employees of the NET: East and Delgado Community College are invited to attend the home going celebration at 11:00am on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 13635 Old Spanish Trail, Boutte, LA 70039. Rev. Christopher Bailey, Officiant, Rev. Clyde Staes, Host Pastor.
