DAVID JOHNSON, SR.

David Johnson, Sr., affectionately known as “Jap” entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at The Sanctuary at Passages Hospice, New Orleans, LA. David was the son of the late Ernest Jones (Barbara) and the late Katie Singelton-Johnson (Joseph Johnson, Jr.). Beloved husband of Gaynell Evetta McCaskill-Johnson. Father of Terriyaka (Rob), David, Jr. (Janesse), and the late Sharita Johnson, Beloved Grandfather of Yesenia, Makiah, Alexis, Davian, Harmoni and the late Quincin “Lil Man.” Brother of Alvin (Pamela), David, Nolene (Thomas), Chaunsey (Gail), Avis (Tyrone), the late Leonard, Reginald (Jennifer) and Tenasha, Sister and Brother-in-law of Yasmin, Theo (Phelisa), Victor (Pauline), Larrt (the late Trena). 

 Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers, and Members of Household of Faith Church, Destiny Christian Center, LaPlace and surrounding churches are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Household of Faith Church, 712 27th Street, Gretna, LA 70053.  Elder Clay Miles of Houston, Texas-Officiant.  In accordance with the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 all in attendance must wear a mask and practice social distancing.  Visitation at the above-named church at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.  Interment St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace, LA.  Final Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H.
