Darius Joseph Crump, born on December 14, 1965, to the late Joseph Crump, Jr. and Margaret Jackson Crump, peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, November 14, 2025. He was the cherished grandson of the late Robert and Thelma Jackson and the late Joseph and Florence Crump. Darius accepted Christ at an early age at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and for the past 30 years, he was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. His faith remained a guiding force throughout his life. He was educated in the Jefferson Parish School System and proudly graduated from Alfred Bonnabel High School. Darius began his working career at Don Carter’s Bowling Alley, where his exceptional skill earned him numerous trophies and accolades. He later embarked on a distinguished 25-year career with Louisiana CAT Caterpillar. After his tenure there, he continued his dedicated work ethic at his final place of employment, Home Depot in LaPlace, Louisiana.
Darius leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings: Vendetta Honore of Kenner, Louisiana; Garnet Crump of Kenner, Louisiana and Demetris Crump of Conroe, Texas. He is also survived by three aunts: Debra Crump Grows (Lionel) of New Orleans, Louisiana; Brenda Crump of Lithia Springs, Georgia; and Denise Jackson of LaPlace, Louisiana. He will be fondly remembered by his devoted partner, Peggy Duhe, of LaPlace, Louisiana. He is further survived by his nephews—Jamal Crump of Brighton, Colorado, Garrell and Gerald Honore of Kenner, Louisiana; his nieces—Christine Honore of Kenner, Louisiana, Arianne Burrell of Aurora, Colorado, and Alonzoneshia Stewart of Spring, Texas; as well as 25 great-nieces and great-nephews and 9 great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews. Darius also leaves behind two close friends, Brandon Morris and Benard Sylvester; three lifelong friends, Darryl Martin, Dwayne Cage, and Melroy Rouzan; and a host of extended family members and friends. Darius was deeply loved and will be remembered for affectionately greeting every woman with “Hey, my lady,” as well as for his kindness, devotion, and unwavering love for those around him. His presence enriched the lives of many, and his memory will forever be cherished.
Relatives and friends of the family, Priest and Parishioners of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and all neighboring Churches also employees of Home Depot, Louisiana CAT Caterpillar and members of the 405 Club are all invited to the Funeral Mass at 10:00am on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 772 Hwy 44, Reserve, LA 70084. Fr. Peter Damien Harris, Celebrant. Visitation 8:15am until the time of Funeral at the above-named Church. Interment St. John Memorial Gardens, 2205 W. Airline Hwy, Laplace, LA 70068.
