Damien S. Godchaux, Jr., affectionately known as “Doodah or Lil Damien” departed his earthly life on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 23.  He was born on February 18, 2002, to Daleshia Charles Godchaux and Damien Godchaux, Sr. and  was native and lifelong resident of Algiers (Cut-Off Community), Louisiana.


Damien Jr. accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Second Baptist Church by the late Rev. Dr. Taza Green, Sr. He attended Edna Karr High School. He was active in the Drama Club where he exceeded expectations. He was told by his drama teacher that he was a natural born actor. Damien also graduated and earned the Scientist Award during his middle school years achieving the highest grade point average in his grade.


Lil’ Damien loved to eat. He required a full course breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He was blessed to NEVER go without his meals. If his parents were at work, he definitely knew who to call to fulfill his order, his Teedie (Cathy Ross). His delivery was on the way! Damien Jr. was loved by everyone in his family as well as the Cutoff community. 


Damien, Jr., leaves to cherish his memory; his parents Daleshia Charles Godchaux and Damien Godchaux, Sr., his sister; Dasmin Godchaux, brother Damijen Godchaux, two Step Sisters Dominique & Nija Berry, grandfather Felton Charles, grandmother Vivian Godchaux, two devoted great aunts; Catherine Ross & Patricia Charles; eight Great Uncles; Chris and Kent Ross; Ferdinand, Ronald, Stanley, and Dallas Charles, Dynel Dillard, and Keston Mimmitt, one nephew, four nieces, two devoted cousins; Avery and Kenish Ross and also survived by a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.


Damien Jr. was preceded in death by: Patricia Ross Charles (Grandmother) Warren Ross, Sr. (Great Grandfather) Delores Franklin Ross (Great Grandmother) and Warren Ross, Jr. (Great Uncle).


Relatives and friends of the family also Pastors, Officers and Members of Victory Christian Center International, Second Baptist Church, Second Nazarine Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, Word of Truth Fellowship also the faculty and students of Dwight Eisenhower and Edna Karr Charter Schools, Employees of Dana Trucking Company and Inspire NOLA Schools are all invited to attend the Funeral Services on Saturday, January 24, 2025 at 10:00am at Victory Christian Center International, 411 Opelousas Ave Algiers, LA. Bishop LeRoy J. Phoenix, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30am until the time of service at the above-named Church. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Final Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H. Sanders Funeral Home & Funeral Directors, LLC. 605 Main Street, Laplace, LA 70068. 985-359-1919. “Providing Care & Comfort is Our Highest Mission.”
