Collis Jefferson, Sr.

June 2, 1972 - October 10, 2025

COLLIS JEFFERSON, SR., a dedicated Field Operator entered eternal rest on Friday, October 10, 2025, age 53. He was native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of Laplace, LA.

Collis was a proud graduate of Glen Oaks High School in Baton Rouge, LA. He further his education and became a Technical College graduate. This prepared him for his lifelong career as a Field Operator with the Marathon Petroleum Corporation.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nicole James Jefferson of Reserve, LA; four children, Cayla Jefferson, Collis Jefferson, Jr., Cai Jefferson, and Calli Jefferson; his mother, Joyce Jefferson of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, Victor Jefferson; and three sisters, Bobbie Sam (Thaddeus), Ernestine Ellis (Keenan), and Towanda Jefferson Aych (Vernon); along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Collins Brown, and his brother, Tommy Jefferson, Sr.

Though our hearts are heavy and it is hard to grasp that he is gone, we find peace in knowing he now rests with the Lord. It is okay to grieve, but let us grieve with hope, hoping that Collis fulfilled his purpose, that he made each of us better, and that God has welcomed him into eternal life. Let us remember all the wonderful times we shared with him and the numerous lives he touched throughout his life.

Collis, we love you and will always carry you in our hearts. May your soul rest in God’s eternal peace.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, officers and members of New Wine Christian Fellowship and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 10:00am on Friday, October 24, 2025, at New Wine Christian Fellowship, 1929 W. Airline Hwy, Laplace, LA 70068. Pastor Neil Bernard-Officiating. Visitation 8:00am until the time of service at the above-named Church. Interment St. John Memorial Gardens, 2205 W. Airline Hwy, Laplace, LA 70068. Final Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H.
