Clarence Dorsey
Alpha: October 14, 1931 Omega: February 7, 2023
Clarence Dorsey was born to the union of the late Hannibal and Easter Davis Dorsey on October 14, 1931 in Boutte, Louisiana. He married Barbara Austin on October 31, 1975.
Clarence may not have had a formal education, but God blessed Clarence to be a hard worker. No matter the truck he could drive it, and he did. He worked for many years as a dump truck driver and a trucker for the Teamsters Local Union 270. He worked alongside his brother Harry Dorsey with the Garbage Truck Business and he even worked for St. Charles Parish Department of Public Works driving trucks during his latter years. As a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church he served as an usher and also was a founding member of the Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery. He was diligent at making sure the grounds were kept clean and the grass was meticulously mowed.
The Lord quietly called Clarence home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the tender age of 91. Clarence leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Austin Dorsey; his children: LaTasha Dorsey, Alvin Lyles, Jr. (Marcia), Anthony Dorsey (Verna), Greg Wilson (Roxanne), Terry Scott (Chris), John Wilson (Jeanette), and Ursula Ingram; two sisters: Geraldine Dorsey Hill and Margaret Dorsey; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, god children, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the entire Mt. Airy Baptist Church family.
