On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Charlie Christopher "Sambo" Wilson, Jr. peacefully departed this earthly life at the age of 85. He was surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Shelia, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. Charlie, Jr. was born July 7, 1939, to the late Charlie Wilson Sr., and Celia LaBranch Wilson. He leaves to cherish his memories, with his caring and devoted wife Shelia Ann Toney-Wilson.  Children Tuesday W. Pierce, Turell Wilson Sr., Tracy Wilson Sr. (LaToya), Dana W. Jarreau (Chris), Laron M. Toney Sr., Paula A. Guillard (Chris), Lynette M. Woodcox (Micheal Sr.), 27 Grandchildren and 17 Great-grandchildren. Three sisters Rosalie W. Brown (Willie), Ophelia W. Walker, and Donna W. Meeks. His extended family includes his devoted niece Lynette Wilson Hilaire, and his sisters-in-law: Ella Mae Darensbourg, Mary Walker, Jacqueline Pierre (Milas), Veronica Isaac (Robert), Barabra Marshall, Rhonda Mitt, Patricia LeBlanc, Betty Jean Domino (Bruce).   Brother-in-laws Leroy Toney (Learnetta), Cornell Toney (Melinda), Warren Toney, Byron Dent, Kenneth Davis, Anthony Davis, Darrell Bartley, Nathaniel Bartley.   He was also blessed with the love and friendship of Norbert Gair and Herman Bossier, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and cherished friends. 

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers, and Members of Cannan Baptist Church, Historic Bell Baptist Church, Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church 14989 Highway 18 Hahnville, LA, 70057. Reverend Henry Wolf Pastor-Officiant and Rev. Rodney L. Johnson, Sr.-Host Pastor, Visitation 9:00 am until time of service at the above-named church.
