Charlene Carter departed her earthly life on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, age 61. A native of Algiers/Cut Off and a resident of Orange, Texas. Daughter of the late Willie and Marguerite Carter, Granddaughter of the late Frank and Charlotte Charles and the late Willie and Earnestine Carter: Loving Mother of Melvin (Danielle) Carter, Lydell (Anitra) and Zed Jefferson and the late Devin Jefferson. Grandmother of 12 grandsons, 3 granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren; sister of Cheri (Howard), Charmaine, Shawn, Nicole, Elliott, Everett (Patrice), Noel, Derrick (Sonya), Darian Carter and Dion Charles; devoted cousin Norma Jean Henry and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relative and Friends of the family, Pastors, Officers, and Members of Providence Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Greater Providence Baptist Church, 623 Newton Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Jamaal Weathersby of New Hope Baptist Church officiating. In accordance with the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 mask are suggested for all in attendance. Visitation at the above­named church, 8:00 am until time of service.
