Celestine Green Dobbs

1940 - 2024

Celestine Green Dobbs transitioned from her earthly life on August 15, 2024. Celestine was born May 17, 1940, to the late Hurley Green, Sr. and Hannah Williams Green. She was the oldest of 9 children. She was a graduate of LB Landry High School Class of 1958. She met and married the late Clyde R. Dobbs, to this union were 2 children, the late Brian Keith Dobbs (4-3-2004), and Robbin Yvette Miller. She was employed and retired from Belle Chasse State School. She was born and raised in Second Baptist Church, Algiers, LA. She was a choir member from childhood and eventually she became the choir director at Second Baptist Church. She loved singing, along with her husband Clyde and son Brian who was a musical genius in his own right.

She has now joined her ancestors. Parents Hurley and Hannah Green, Loving Husband, Clyde R. Dobbs (6/3/2014), exceptionally talented Son, Brian Keith Dobbs, Great Grandmother Corrine Raphael, Brothers Louis, Hampton, and Hurley Green and Grandson Ian Andre' Miller Jr.

She leaves her legacy to her daughter, Robbin Yvette Miller (Ian), adopted daughter Susan J. Craig. 3 sisters, 2 brothers, Grandson Imari, 2 granddaughters, and 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, classmates, and friends. There was a private service held at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, LA. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
