Carol Lynn Pounds peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:09pm. She was born on September 2, 1948 to the late Joseph Pounds and Pearline Pounds.


Carol was a loving wife to the late Ronnie Pounds, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.


Carol worked at Sears Roebuck & Company for 20+ years where she was loved and respected by her coworkers. Carol had a passion for making things beautiful. She loved to decorate and was known for her elaborate Christmas trees, wreaths, and home decor. She also enjoyed browsing through magazines and had a knack for finding bargains. Carol was feisty, yet she embodied elegance and possessed a heart of gold, cherishing all those she held dear to her heart.


She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter, Kimberly Ford; her grandchildren, Kaitlin Ford, Christion Little, and Kennedy Ford; her brother, Charles Anderson; two nephews, Stacey Davis (Raelyn), Charles Anderson and one niece, Karlita Anderson. She also leaves to cherish her memory her sister in love, Karen Anderson; her lifelong friend/sister Barbara Swain, two Goddaughters, Samantha Anderson Rollins and Lauren Rhodes Charles along with a host of great nieces, great nephews, and friends.


Carol also leaves to cherish her memory is her beloved extended family, the Cox Family whom she was known to as Kat Tee, Tee Kat or Cat to many.


She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Joseph & Pearline Pounds, husband, Ronnie Pounds and grandparents, Anthony Hill, Bertha Hill, Beatrice Dorsey and Uncle Leroy Dorsey.


Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church and all surrounding churches are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Rd, Marrero, LA 70072.  Visitation 10:00am until time of service at the above-named church.  Interment Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 3450 Hwy 90 West, Avondale, LA 70094.  Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H. Sanders Funeral Home & Funeral Directors, Inc.  605 Main Street, LaPlace, LA  70068. 985-359-1919.  “Providing Care & Comfort is Our Highest Mission”.
