Bronya Chenier Burfict peacefully transitioned from her earthly life on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, age 54. Bronya was born on July 16, 1970, to Ms. Linda Chenier Armstrong and Thomas Nolan.

She was a member of Providence No. 2 in Montz, LA under the leadership of the late Reverend Donald Brown, Sr. She was the most affectionate person known to everyone. She was always willing to help anyone that needed any assistance. To know her was to love her.

She was loved and raised by Emma Armstrong. She was the beloved wife of Michael Burfict for 35 years. She is the mother of five beautiful children: Jereaine, Michael, Christopher, Jazmine, and Jasminique Chenier. All of New Orleans, LA.  She was also the bonus mom of Desmond Calloway. 

She is the grandmother of Semaj and Jayden Williams, Micheal, Kia, Lilly, Aaliyah Chopin. She was the eldest of her mother’s siblings. She has one beloved sister, Nikki Armstrong (Allen) Jones; Children Markus Martin, Yarmine Taylor and Melvin Owens III. 

She has one brother by her father, Jeremy Nolan, Bronya is the daughter in law to Joycelyn Thomas of New Orleans, LA. She is the sister-in-law to Brenda Burfict of New Orleans, Morris Williams, Charlotte Mutin and Lionel C. Mutin all of Las Vegas, NV. She is the Aunt of Ishekia Burfict Placide and Troy A. Sanchez, Jr. of New Orleans, LA and Lionel M. Mutin of Las Vegas, NV/

She has one great niece Re’Nya A. Stewart and one great nephew Troy A. Sanchez, III: God child Amahad Johnson of Reserve, LA.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Ruby Chenier, Annie Mae Stephens, Daniel Armstrong, and her brother-in-law Johnell Williams.

Relatives and friends of the family, pastors, officers and members of New Rescue Mission Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00am on Monday, June 9, 2025, at New Rescue Mission Baptist Church, 361 E. 14th Street, Reserve, LA 70084. Pastor Devin Mason- Officiating. Visitation 9:00am until time of service at the above-named Church. Interment St. John Memorial Gardens, 2205 W. Airline Hwy., Laplace, LA 70068.
